Three times a year, we call upon those who have expressed a desire to support the work and ministry of our churches serving the inner-city population. Our churches in Chicago, Illinois; Jacksonville, Florida; and Memphis, Tennessee, represent a long history of serving the urban community. We do this through F.O.C.U.S., an appeal for prayerful and financial support of our urban ministries. F.O.C.U.S. is an acronym for the Fellowship Of Committed Urban Supporters. Because of the expanding opportunities presented to our churches, we are looking for others to join the faithful group of supporters who have responded to our calls for assistance. If you have a heart for missions and a burden for our inner-city churches, then I would invite you to become a part of this very special group.

We have issued our first call for this year. The appeal is to contribute to the promotion of the summer programs our urban churches present as outreach ministries to the youth in their communities. This call is for a special offering to be given to Hope Community AC Church of Chicago, Illinois; New Life Community AC Church of Jacksonville, Florida; and Living Water Community AC Church of Memphis, Tennessee. All gifts should be directed to the Advent Christian General Conference and noted as support for F.O.C.U.S. Call #1. Your gift can make a difference in the life of a young person served by one of our urban churches.
